An address does not describe every access issue
A move between two towns can look simple on a map. Near the property, narrow roads, a recessed entrance, a courtyard or several flights of stairs change the actual route furniture must take. Describe this final stretch as carefully as the journey.
Photograph the entrance, the route from the street and the tightest passages. Note changes in level or places where a load must turn. Assess each property individually, whether it is in Fano, Pesaro or a hill town.
Check access and parking before confirming the day
Historic centres and regulated streets may have conditions for vehicle access, loading or use of public space. Rules depend on the municipality, street and period. Check current information with the relevant official authority and clarify who handles any necessary arrangements.
An empty roadside space during a visit is not guaranteed parking on moving day. For private courtyards or shared entrances, agree gate opening and clear access too. Any necessary permits or reservations should be addressed explicitly in the service.
Plan stages, not just a departure time
Emptying the home, loading, travel, unloading and reassembly are separate tasks. Key handovers or limited access to the new property can affect the whole schedule. Explain these constraints early and allow flexibility where dates are outside your control.
Coordinate with any other trades working in the property. Flooring work or stored materials can reduce the available space. For interregional moves, flag delivery windows and periods when the destination cannot be accessed.
- When is the old property accessible?
- When will you receive the new keys?
- Are there building time restrictions?
- Which rooms need to be usable first?
Make settling in easier
Label boxes with their destination room and keep personal essentials separate: documents, chargers and what you need for the first evening. A simple room plan helps decide furniture positions before boxes fill the space.
Agree reassembly priorities and check that the sequence is realistic. A well organised move depends on concrete details, shared before the day rather than left to assumption.
